These binaries are provided primarily for use by implementors of
the Java SE 7 Platform Specification and are recommended for
reference purposes only. The Reference Implementations have been
approved by the JCP and will receive no further updates, not even
for security issues. Binaries for development and production use
will be available from
Oracle and in most popular Linux distributions. The official Reference Implementations for Java SE 7
(JSR 336) are
based solely upon open-source code available from the JDK 7 Project in the
OpenJDK Community. Binaries are
provided for both the linux-x64 and windows-i386 platforms.

Java 7 SE Lessons

(SFX) Hello and welcome to the Virtual Training Company’s Advanced Java Programming with Java7. In this course we will be learning about the following areas in the Java programming Java 7 SE Lessons language. We’ll be reviewing Java fundamentals such as data types Java language constructs and IO. We’ll also be taking a look at a packaging and distributing Java applications.

This lesson teaches the regular expression syntax supported by the java.util.regex API, and presents several working examples to illustrate how the various objects interact. Basic I/O covers the Java platform classes used for basic input and output. It focuses primarily on I/O Streams, a powerful concept that greatly simplifies I/O operations. The lesson also looks at Serialization, which lets a program write whole objects out to streams and read them back again.

Concurrency explains how to write applications that perform multiple tasks simultaneously. The Java platform is designed from the ground up to support concurrent programming, with basic concurrency support in the Java programming language and the Java class libraries. Since version 5.0, the Java platform has also included high-level concurrency APIs. This lesson introduces the platform’s basic concurrency support and summarizes some of the high-level APIs in the java.util.concurrent packages.

JDK 7 is a superset of JRE 7, and contains everything that is in JRE 7, plus tools such as the compilers and debuggers necessary for developing applets and applications. JRE 7 provides the libraries, the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and other components to run applets and applications written in the Java programming language. Note that the JRE includes components not required by the Java SE specification, including both standard and non-standard Java components.
